This very busy and small utility closet in a Brandon condo housed the a/c air handler, water heater, and the drain pipe. Lots of opportunities for moisture to escape and soak into the sheetrock. This conducive condition was perfect for dormant mold spores to develop into large, unwanted colonies. Our SERVPRO® applied microbial remediation technicians AMRT did what was necessary for the restoration service by doing a controlled demolition of the non-salvageable building components and discarding them according to OSHA and EPA requirements. The After Photo illustrates the small closet, cleaned of mold after a biocide has been applied to all exposed surfaces.
