Learn New Skills to Assist Transitioning to Civilian Life in Riverview

The Veterans Networking Group meets on the 1st and 3rd Tuesday of every month. The group represents an excellent opportunity for veterans to network with other veterans, meet with representatives of various service groups, company recruiters, and coaches to help with career changes. Many veterans benefit from the information they gain about:

• Changes in trends in the workforce
• Hiring practices
• Available job opportunities
• Building a network of career contacts

Transitioning from the military to civilian life after many years of service can be challenging for many. Finding jobs, rejoining local communities, and starting a new career can be difficult. The VNG, along with members, attempts to ease the process for their members.

The Veterans Networking Group is sponsored by the Greater Riverview Chamber of Commerce. While the chamber has many areas of interest, the Military Affairs Committee focuses on serving military members, past and present. Former members of the military support the committee in meeting their objectives of supporting the local military community. Former military members are encouraged to join and provide help.
